Research collaborations with industry
The Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering at Sofia University brings together research in colloid and interface science and experience working with industrial partners. We study the structure, stability and behaviour of complex systems used in chemical, pharmaceutical and food applications.
Areas for collaboration
- Surfactants and complex mixtures: aggregation, adsorption, interactions and rheology.
- Foams, emulsions and dispersions: formation, stability and flow behaviour.
- Pharmaceutical systems: fat digestion, solubilization and drug-delivery research.
- Experimental characterization and modelling: connecting measurements with physicochemical models and molecular simulations.
Facilities and research experience
Our facilities include SAXS/WAXS, confocal microscopy, imaging ellipsometry, tensiometry, drop-shape analysis and rheometry. These methods support research into the structure and behaviour of complex formulations.
Industrial collaborations
